Q: My ex-wife and I negotiated our divorce and signed an agreement through a mediator. Later I discovered new information about additional property my ex did not report, can I file a request with the court to amend our agreement. What are my chances?
•Property RightsA: This is tricky. Since the negotiations were conducted outside of a legal process and are confidential, therefore the court generally does not have the tools to assist the injured party (here-you). In a judgement given on 18.11.24, a woman’s claim in this matter was dismissed by the Tel Aviv District Family Court, (Family Case 18783-07-21). The Family Court suggested that the parties return to the mediation process, where the agreement was drafted, and determined that it had no authority to amend their agreement.
